Obituary of LALANI – Nasra

May 9, 1945 – August 27, 2010 Nasra passed away peacefully at home on August 27, 2010 at the age of 65 years, with her family by her side. Nasra was born in Nairobi, Kenya and did her schooling in England. In 1974, Nasra and her family began a new life in Canada where she dedicated many years of service to the clients of the family’s accounting practice. A keen devotee of many music forms, Nasra filled the lives of those around her with her loving tunes. Nasra dedicated her life to serving her family and her community. Her selfless nature and never-ending generosity endeared her to the many people whose paths in life crossed her own. Nasra’s spirit will forever be felt through Mother Nature’s many gifts and her sparkle will forever be seen in the stars that shine from above. Nasra is survived by her loving husband of thirty-nine years Kabir; her sons, Jamil and Adil (Zenita); and her grandson Khalin. Also left to remember her caring and loving spirit are her mother Shirin Shariff; brothers, Nasru, Naushad, Mehboob, and Masood. She will also be missed by her mother-in-law Firozbanu Lalani, all members of the Lalani and Bond families and her many uncles, aunts, cousins, nephews and nieces as well as her many close and dear friends whose lives she touched and enriched. Funeral Services will be held at the Ismaili Jamat Khana & Centre (4623 – 11th Street N.E.) on Monday, August 30, 2010 at 12:00 p.m. Graveside Service to follow at Rocky View Garden of Peace.
