Obituary of NORTON – Anne Mary

May 20, 1929 – August 24, 2010 It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Anne Mary Norton on Tuesday, August 24, 2010 at the age of 81 years. Anne was born in Bassano, AB just over eighty-one years ago. After graduating from high school in Bassano, she worked in Toronto and then moved to Calgary where she started her career with the CP railway. In 1956, she married her beloved Richard Norton (deceased) and together they settled in Calgary and raised their three children, Judith (Bob), Darrell (Sheila), and Garry (Janice). She was a devoted mother, and her children remember a joyful childhood. Anne was thereafter blessed with four wonderful grandchildren whom she adored, Michelle, Drake, Marcus and Vanessa. Anne loved to visit the mountains as often as she could and her travels also included trips to New York City and Washington DC. Anne loved her cherished little dog Sparky. She had a great sense of humour, incredible strength in raising her children alone after the untimely passing of Richard, a love of musicals, and a passion for reading, particularly biographies.
