Obituary of MANYWOUNDS – Francis Jimmy

March 28, 1961 – August 23, 2010 Jim Manywounds passed away on Monday, August 23, 2010 at the age of 49 years. Jim’s passion was the rodeo where he participated as a chuckwagon outrider at the Calgary Stampede. He was proud of his career as an iron worker in Vancouver. Jim was the first Aboriginal driver for Calgary Transit and he also enjoyed his time as a highway truck driver. Jim is survived by his sister Laura Many Wounds; his “aunty mom” Muriel Manywounds; aunts and uncles Marie and Gordon Crowchild, Archie and Loretta Manywounds, and John and Lottie Manywounds; his best friend Brad Thomas; cousins Peter Manywounds and Dean Manywounds; nieces and nephews Rick, Martin, Janine, Celeste (Scotty), Shasta, Larry, Jori, Carmelita (Junior), Shad (Holly), Joelle, Riel, Lenny, Clint and Vern as well as many relatives from Tsuu T’ina, Siksika Nation and Morley. He was predeceased by his parents Amos and Rose Manywounds; sisters Roslyn, Joanne, Pamela; his brother Vernie; nephew Shilo and niece Lori. Wake Services will be held at the residence of Laura Many Wounds (Tsuu T’ina Nation) on Wednesday, August 25, 2010 at 6:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church (Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church 3700 Anderson Road SW Tsuu T’ina Nation) on Thursday, August 26, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. Graveside Service to follow Tsuu T’ina Cemetery.
