Obituary of BOOTH – Roy Francis

December 28, 1917 – August 19, 2010 Roy Francis Booth beloved husband of Jeanne Booth of Blackie, AB, formally of Moose Jaw, SK, passed away on Thursday, August 19, 2010 at the age of 92 years. Roy was born and raised in Southey, SK. He left the farm at an early age and joined the RCAF in 1941. He met and married Jeanne in 1944, and after being discharged from the RCAF, they settled in Moose Jaw where he opened a blacksmith and welding shop until 1976. He continued to work with Morris Katz and Clark Construction on a part time basis while wintering in Arizona. In 1987, they sold their home in Moose Jaw and moved to Blackie, AB where they remained until 2007 at which time they moved to Southwood Intercare in Calgary. Besides his loving wife of sixty-six years Jeanne, Roy is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Hazel and Al McKinnon of Blackie, AB; two sons and daughters-in-law, Mel and Robbi Booth of Abbotsford, BC and David and Linda Booth of Penhold, AB; six grandchildren, Trevor (Alyssa) McKinnon, Lisa (Barry) Keller, Angela McKinnon (Grant Syversen), Jeff Booth, Brad Booth and Chad Booth; six great-grandchildren, Ashlynn, Lindsey, Katelynn, Nicholas, Jessica and Nolan. He is also survived by a brother Rev. Lewis Booth of Moose Jaw, SK; a sister Peggy Montgomery of Toronto, ON; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
