Kathy – Your mother and my mother met under less than desireable circumstances; both of them sat vigil in the same hospital for their husbands, our fathers, who passed away within weeks of each other. Thus a bond was created between the two women – a bond which lasted over 20 years. This bond was further intensified by the fact that both women emigrated from the United Kingdom. Over the years we have enjoyed our visits with Kathleen and hearing the stories of her family, her youth, her music, and her birthplace, the Isle of Man. She taught us about being a lady and aging with dignity and we will miss her. I’m sorry we didn’t get much time to talk at the funeral as we have a great deal in common, but know that our thoughts are with you and your family, all of whom Kathleen talked about frequently and with much love.
