Obituary of CUMMINS – Shirley

September 9, 1934 – August 18, 2010 Shirley Patricia Cummins, beloved wife of Terence Cummins of Calgary, passed away on Wednesday, August 18, 2010 at the age of 75 years. She was born September 9, 1934 in Sherbrooke, Quebec. Shirley was a pediatric nurse for many years and fondly remembered the doctors, nurses and families that she worked with. Throughout her life she pursued her love of cross-stitching, knitting, and needlepoint, and greatly enjoyed her sessions with her craft group. Shirley leaves behind her loving husband of fifty-two years Terence Patrick Cummins; her children and their spouses, Sharon(Angelo), Bob(Melanie), Linda(Wes), Donna, and Andrew(Sue); and thirteen grandchildren, Michelle, Anthony, Natalie; Chelsea, Owen, Robin, Desiree, Kyla; Amanda, Justina, Chantelle, Shayla, and Brandon. She is survived by siblings, Reg (Norma), Lyle (Yvette), Denis (Myrna), Marilyn (Russ), and John (Jeannie); in-laws, Jim(Helen), Joyce(Cam), Pat, Nellie, and June; as well as many nieces and nephews. Shirley was predeceased by her mother Nora; father Albert; and brother Robert Robinson. Memorial Mass will be celebrated at Corpus Christi Catholic Church (corner of 4 St & Northmount Dr NW) on Friday, August 27, 2010, 10:45 AM (Tribute) 11:00 AM (Mass). Our gratitude goes out to the amazing staff at Agape Hospice who made the last few weeks as comforting as possible for Shirley and the family.
