Obituary of WAKARUK – Ora Marie

December 28, 1948 – August 18, 2010 On Wednesday, August 18, 2010 at the age of 61 years, Ora Wakaruk, beloved wife of Roger, passed away following a lengthy and courageous battle with brain cancer. Ora was born, raised and attended school in Drumheller. She graduated from U of A and taught school in Drumheller until 1971 when Roger and she moved to Calgary. Ora and Roger were married on June 27, 1970. They were blessed with two sons. After raising their family, Ora resumed teaching at the Whitehorn Play School Society, where she taught for the past nineteen years. She will be remembered as a kind, caring and compassionate person who touched the lives of many. Ora is survived by her loving husband Roger of forty years, her sons and daughters-in-law, Brent and Jody; Christopher and Janelle. She was a devoted Nana to Emily and Katie. Ora is also survived by a brother Ken (Penny) Snaychuk of Moyie, BC. as well as many extended family members. She was predeceased by her parents Anne and Walter Snaychuk. The family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff of the Agape Hospice for providing dignity and respect during her stay.
