Condolences
Dear Maybert,
It’s a sad day when I find myself writing to you about your dear husband, and my friend, Langley Oils.
I truly hope you are managing to cope without him. I’ll be thinking of you today. Just in case I’m able to help in any way, please phone me (403-258-0040).
In sympathy,
Thelma Dumont
We offer our deepest sympathies to the entire family at this time of very tragic loss.
I have many memories of my dear cousin, Brent….the first reminder being a picture I have of him and me and Beverley (we were probably about 7 years old; Brent would be 10) all STANDING on the back of a good patient horse on the ranch at Black Diamond in the 1940’s (help!) It was probably the ONLY time Brent was on a horse but it certainly looked impressive! Brent and I hooked up occasionally when we were in university and somehow we seemed to be soul mates. In the 1980’s we spent time together when he would drive me and his uncle ( my father), Ken McLean, around our farmland in Saskatchewan and southwest Manitoba where our grandfather homesteaded at the turn of the century (the turn of the 20th century that is!) We used to have great fun and great laughs over a bottle of wine rehashing old family stories and sagas and myths………..
I’m so sad he’s gone away. As I told Maybert, we of the McLean Clan have all lived under the false assumption that we would live into our 90’s as did most of our forebearers……..and so I’m sure Brent would leave us with a message to live and love life to its fullest – and so we must. (We named our eldest son “Brent” and so that name continues to flourish in our family).
With affection,
Gayle (Mclean) McPherson
I was deeply saddened to learn of Brents passing today. My sincere condolences to all of the family.
I have lost my baseball games and stock market buddy and I really miss him!
It is with great sadness that I learned of Brent’s passing. I will miss our soup days and discussions about the old days with my father. You will be missed my friend.
Take care and travel safe.
