Condolences
My deepest sympathies to the families of Shirley. I worked for several years with Shirley at Purdys Chocolates. We had many great times together at work and conventions. Shirley was a hard worker and showed a strong work ethic. Sorry to have missed the celebration of her life. Thoughts go out to her mom and her family. Arla Jassman
I am sorry I missed the celebration this past week. Your Mom was truly someone to celebrate. Shirley was a friend who gave herself unconditionally and will be missed very much. She was always so proud of you her children, children-in-law and especially her grandchildren. We will all miss her always, but I know that she still is beside us! My sincere sympathy,
Karen
To Mitzi and family – we are so sorry to hear of your mom’s passing. Like the poem says – Those who love don’t go away. They walk beside us every day. Unseen, Unheard, but always near. Still loved, Still missed and very dear.
Sincere Sympathy – Val and Stan
My deepest sympathies to all of Shirley’s family. I had the opportunity to work with Shirley and she was one special generous kind-hearted lady. She had a great sense of humor and a very strong work ethic. She ran her shoe store like it was her own. Even when she got very sick she was still asking about the store and her staff. The store is still running with her imprint on it. She cared deeply. I will miss her and remember her with a smile. Sue Dyck
I only had the pleasure of working with Shirley for 3 years at Sole Comfort Shoes (Head Office). She always had a smile on her face and laughter in her heart. We shared many telephone calls both before and after Shirley’s illness and that shared time will be missed. Dear friend I know that you are free from pain and in a better place. To Mitzi, Sean and Jackie take care of yourselves and your families – you meant everything to your Mom.
Marg
We were very saddened to hear of Shirley’s passing, but it is a relief that she is now at peace. Mom and Shirley are hopefully together now, sharing a laugh or two in a better place. Jackie, Sean, and Mitzi-just stay strong so you can focus on your children now. That’s all your Mom would want.
Love Franci and John Joncic
Those of us who worked with Shirley during her time at Purdy’s Chocolates remember the hard-working, fun-loving spirit she was. She made many friends in our company, in stores and at support office. We are truly sorry to hear of her passing, and our hearts go out to her family and friends. She will be missed.
In honour of Shirley’s life, Purdy’s will be making a memorial donation to Foothills Country Hospice Society.
My heart goes out to all of you. I am blessed to have known Shirley and am proud to have worked closely with her at Sole Comfort . Shirley was my ” Slavedriver” and a wonderful friend. She is sadly missed by all.
I got to know Shirley as I work in the store next to Sole Comfort. It wasn’t long before we became friends. Shirley was the kind of person that you immediately liked. She was a kind, loving person who touched my life in a very special way. I will not forget her kindness to me during some difficult times. I will truly miss my friend! My deepest sympathy to all of Shirley’s family. Sylvia Schermann
We will truly miss our beautiful friend Shirley. The great times we had on Whiteridge Cres. will always be remembered. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family. Much love, Ross and San
I wanted to express my sadness at the loss of Shirley. I worked with her for 3 years at Sole Comfort and enjoyed her laughter and kindness. I enjoyed working with her each day and counted her a friend. I was so thankful to be able to visit with her at the Foothills Hospice and so evidently witness her sense of peace despite the pain that I am sure she was experiencing. She was a continual example of hard work and a positive attitude. I am thankful to have known her. My thoughts and prayers are with her family at this time.
