Obituary of VRATARIC – Tina

January 4, 1947 – August 9, 2010 Surrounded by her family, Tina Vrataric of Calgary passed away peacefully on Monday, August 9, 2010 at the age of 63 years. Tina was born on January 4, 1947 in Maljevac, Croatia. Newly married, she immigrated to Canada in 1967, settling in Winnipeg, MB. Tina and her family moved to Calgary in 1983, where she made many new friends and quickly fell in love with the city. Tina adored her three grandchildren, and loved spending time with them. She was also an amazing caregiver who watched over the neighbour’s children like her own. She welcomed visitors who regularly dropped by and wasn’t content until you were well fed with her fantastic home-cooked meals. Tina worked as an elderly aid prior to retiring in 2003, and was an active member of the Croatian community. She cherished her time spent with the Croatian Seniors group which provided her many fond memories. Tina is survived by a son and daughter-in-law Walter and Amber Vrataric; daughter and son-in-law Vera and Alistair Anderson; as well as three grandchildren, Robbie and Victoria Anderson and Molly Vrataric. She is also remembered by numerous family members in Croatia. Tina was predeceased by her husband Marko Vrataric and a son Nick Vrataric. A private service will be held.
