Obituary of STEWART – Doris Edith

May 28, 1923 – July 25, 2010 Beloved mother, grandmother, friend and volunteer, Doris Edith Stewart passed away on Sunday, July 25, 2010 at the age of 87. She was born in Macklin, Saskatchewan on May 28, 1923. She was preceded in death by her husband of 25 years, Lionel C. Stewart. She is survived by her son Drake (Andrea), Janice (Rodney) and Roxanne (Lyndon), grandchildren Sean (Jieun), Marley, Haley (Theodore), Amelia, Aloosha, sister Phyllis Vincent and niece Bonnie Nguyen of Ottawa and Bobbi and Herb Rudolph of Vancouver. Doris was an active volunteer throughout the years at the Red Cross, Rockyview Hospital and Calgary 1988 Olympics. She loved to cook and was a gracious hostess. She was a gentle soul who enjoyed her flowers, travelling to exotic destinations (Qatar on her own to visit family) and weekly bridge games with her close friends. In the words of one dear friend “she was always a lady”. Her family was her life and her memory will live on in their hearts forever.
