Obituary of PEEBLES – Edna Joyce

April 14, 1922 – July 22, 2010 Edna Joyce Peebles passed away on Thursday, July 22, 2010 at the age of 88 years. Edna was born on April 14, 1922, at the family homestead near Loverna, SK. She moved from Hoosier, SK to Calgary in 1974 and to Cochrane in 1994. At the time of her death, she was a resident of the Father Lacombe Care Centre in Calgary. Edna was a dedicated homemaker who enjoyed cooking, knitting, sewing, crocheting, and working on her macramé and ceramics projects. She will be sadly missed by her family and all who knew her. Edna is survived by her daughter Donna (Bruce) Sim; sister Yvonne Gervais; son-in-law Bruno Epp; and five grandchildren, Trevor Sim, Carla (Robert) Davis, Lana (Brent) Aberant, Bryan (Leslie Ann) Epp, and Daphne (Karl) Halverson. She is also survived by eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Edna was predeceased by her first husband Douglas Doig in 1969, second husband Donald Peebles in 1996 and daughter Gloria Epp in 2004. She was also predeceased by her father William Brooks, mother Jane Bolton, step-father Elmer Bolton, twin brother Edward Brooks, brother Donald Brooks and sisters, Annie Ewing, Winnifred Doig, Dorothy Martin, and Doreen Stevens. A Memorial Service will be held at Father Lacombe Care Centre, (332 146 Avenue S.E.), on Saturday, August 21, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will take place at the Hoosier Community Cemetery, Hoosier, SK. at a later date.
