Condolences
Gwen joins me in expressing our sympathy to you Brian and your family, in the loss of your Dad Horst. He sounds like a remarkable man who certainly made the most of his life in Canada. May the memories of your Dad sustain you in the weeks and months ahead. Our thoughts are with you.
Sincerely Ralph and Gwen Hodgins
Hi Brian
Please accept our condolences on the passing of your father. We have missed seeing you for a long while but still think of the great work that you do in all kinds of weather. This is a sad time that comes to everyone and I hope you can focus on the happy memories.
May God’s blessings be with you now and always.

Without Rita, Robert, Horst and Joan, our travels through Alaska in 2000 would not have been so memorable and fun-filled. In 2005, Horst put aside his loss of Joan and showed three Australian softballers not only the beauty of Alberta, but heartfelt hospitality second to none. Later, he came Downunder in the hottest summer in years that tested his physical reserves, and still able to laugh and joke. We did not teach him to swim, though. No more Canadian phone calls on hot Christmas Eves; just very fond memories of a friend and fellow traveller. Yes, we will remember him.
