Obituary of MASON – Leon Eugene

June 29, 1922 – July 18, 2010 Leon Mason, beloved husband of Margaret Mason of Crossfield, AB, passed away on Sunday, July 18, 2010 at the age of 88 years. Besides his loving wife of sixty-three years, Leon is survived by two sons and a daughter, Don and Merle Mason, Marilyn and Andrew Jackson, and Keith Mason; and two grandchildren Joel and Claire Jackson. He is also survived by a brother Tom and his wife Anne Mason; brother-in-law Bill Shopik and numerous nieces and nephews. Leon was predeceased by two sisters Veronica Collins and Lucille Shopik. Leon was born on the farm homesteaded by the Mason family. He grew up on the farm, and farmed the land for all his working life. He loved his family, his land, his community and his John Deere tractors. Those in Crossfield and others whose life he touched will share in memories of curling, camping, singing, playing bridge and traveling. We will remember his infectious curiosity, zest for life right to the very end, and his joy and pride in his grandchildren.
