Obituary of RICHARDSON – Gail Anne
December 9, 1946 – July 18, 2010
Gail Richardson, beloved wife of Doug of Calgary, passed away on Sunday, July 18, 2010 at the age of 63 years.
Gail’s mother (Mary Elder) said “I named her Gail because she blew in like one, when she was born.” Gail always lived her life that way. Everything she did was with passion, tenacity, and dedication. Everyone who knew Gail will never forget her limitless energy for accomplishing her goals. Her love for family, passion for horses, gardening, outdoor activities, and her unrelenting enthusiasm for volunteering, also extended into her fight against ovarian cancer. For seven years, she untiringly advocated for all women. Gail knew that education and knowledge was the key to preventing ovarian cancer by learning to recognize the early warning signs.
Gail leaves behind a legacy of hope, understanding, strength, devotion, and inspiration for everyone that knew her.
Besides her loving husband Doug Richardson, Gail is survived by daughter Jamea Minue (Braydon); surrogate daughter Carla Peterman (Darren); sisters, Marilyn Acton (Dave), Kim Poulter (John); brothers, Wade Elder (Cindy), and Fred Elder (MaryAnne); as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial Services will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ, Latter Day Saints, Okotoks Chapel (300 Woodgate Road, Okotoks) on Saturday, July 24, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. Please feel free to meet with the family prior to the service beginning at 12:30 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
