Obituary of PASECHNIK – Vera

October 28, 1927 – July 17, 2010 Vera Pasechnik was taken away from us on Saturday, July 17, at the age of 82 years, after a courageous battle with cancer. Vera was born in Nordegg, AB on October 28, 1927 to Elsie and George Farnsworth. Throughout her life, she maintained her ties with Nordegg and still socialized with many of her grade one friends. Vera always put others concerns or needs before her own and was the epitome of what a true friend is. She truly knew the strength of family and the value of friends. Wherever Vera went, she made friends for life and was very well-known for her wit and sense of humour. If someone needed to discuss their problems, Vera was always there to lend an ear and was able to handle any and all topics with humour and friendly advice. Vera is survived by her children, Darlene (Peter); Harold (Vivian); and two grandchildren, Cindy and Candace. She also leaves behind many life-long, childhood friends, notably Colleen Boychuk, a friend of forty years, and Al and Val Visotto of Rocky Mountain House. Vera was predeceased by her loving husband, Archie, in 1995. At Vera’s request, no services will be held. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. Many thanks and appreciation to the entire staff in Unit 44 of the Peter Lougheed Centre; and Janice and Krystal of Palliative Care for all of their kindness. In her final week with us, Vera was surrounded by the caring staff and volunteers of the Agape Hospice and said how she loved to watch the birds at the window feeder.
