From one parent to another I know the pain and agony of losing a child. My son was much older than Mikey when he died 12 years ago. My son David was 15, so still a child and I was devastated. Over the years the pain has lessened somewhat and I have learned to live with my loss after seeking support. Please know others feel for your family when hearing of the loss of another (your) child. I am sending my thoughts and prayers to your family with the sincerst regrets, Donna Bernreuther
You do not know me but my heart and thoughts are with you now and beyond…my two year old grandson drowned last November…and I have some understanding of the extreme grief and pain your entire family and friends are going through. There are no words to describe it. I found grief counselling from Bob Glasgow at Rockeyview to be very important. Also, the following:
“Those we love don’t go away.
They walk beside us every day.
Unseen, unheard, but always near,
Still loved, still missed and very dear.”
There is not a day that goes by that you do not love and miss and want…things to be different.
My family’s deepest sympathy.
