Obituary of CROMBIE – Ethel Isobel

May 4,1915 – July 3, 2010 Ethel passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 3, 2010 at the age of 95 years. She will be lovingly remembered by her family and friends. Ethel was born in Toronto and spent her youth in Schreiber, ON. She attended the University of Toronto and taught in Ontario before meeting Gordon. The family moved to Calgary in 1948. Ethel devoted her life to her family and made many friends whom she cherished. She was an avid reader, enjoyed travelling, playing bridge, and was a wonderful cook and hostess. She attended Knox United Church for many years. Ethel is survived by her children; Patricia (Jean), Carolyn (Noel), David (Heidi), her grandchildren; Daniel, Gordon (Angela), Marc (Marsha), Dean (Rebecca), Jeffrey, Joshua (Jamie) and Kathryn (Scott), her cousins Jeanne and Carla and their families and nephews Brian and Stuart. Ethel was predeceased by her beloved husband Gordon in 1981, a son in law Bruce in 2003 and her parents David and Ethel Duncan. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Thursday, July 8, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
