Obituary of KURESH – Martha Marion

March 30, 1927 – July 1, 2010 Martha will be lovingly remembered by her daughter June DiMaggio, her husband Paul, their daughters, Amanda and Holly, great grandchildren, Rhiannon and Dane; as well as her son Kenneth, his wife Laurice, and their daughters, Rebecca and Madison. Martha will be missed by countless family and friends and was predeceased by her husband William (1982), as well as many sisters and brothers-in-law, her brother Cyril DeKeyser (2004) and his wife Olga (June 29th). All who knew Martha remembered her for her warm, caring and kind personality; her ability to make others comfortable and address their needs before hers; her wonderful sense of humour (up until hours before her passing); her ability to make a friend wherever she was; playing the scratch tickets and always joking she was, “determined to win the million dollars even if it’s 20 dollars at a time”; and able to find the best of a bad situation to consol and comfort. It was no secret that other than her family and friends, Mom’s passion was her cooking skills. She absolutely loved to grocery shop and then work her magic in the kitchen. She was willing to share all her secrets to all that wanted, but always cooked to taste, never measuring the ingredients. At least once a week she would have her signature spaghetti sauce simmering for all to enjoy, or on a moment’s notice. Everyone that visited went away fed, satisfied and enjoyed her company. Thank you Mom for being an amazing Mother, for all the lessons you taught us and the love we shared. We will forever miss you, until we meet again. Love, June and Ken
