Obituary of QUANTZ – Esther

February 23, 1938 – June 27, 2010 Esther Quantz (née Gliege) went to be with her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, Sunday, June 27, 2010 at the age of 72 years. Esther was born February 23, 1938 in Peoria, Alberta, as the 5th of seven children. She attended Peace River Bible Institute (high school) and then Prairie Bible Institute, graduating in 1962. In 1966 she served near a four year term with Sudan Interior Mission in Switzerland and West Africa. In 1969 she returned to Canada due to an illness in the family. That same year she enrolled at the University of Calgary for a degree in education, during which time she met and married her husband Doug. She taught in several Alberta schools for 15 years until 1987. In 1990 she and her husband started a small oil company, Concerto Resources in which she was a partner until her passing. Esther is survived by her loving husband Doug; two sons and daughter-in-law, David, and Steven and Kendall; two sisters, Elsie Gliege and Amanda Isaac and her husband Bill; one brother, Arnold Gliege and his wife Shirley; two brothers-in-law, Glen Quantz and his wife Susan, Don Quantz and his wife Brenda. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Sunday, July 4, 2010 from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held at Centre Street Church (3900 – 2nd Street N.E.) on Monday, July 5, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. A Private Family Graveside will be held at Mountain View Memorial Gardens.
