Obituary of McNaughtan – Catherine Mary

June 13, 1920 – June 26, 2010 Catherine McNaughtan beloved wife of John McNaughtan of Calgary passed away on June 26, 2010 at the age of 90 years. Catherine was raised on a farm near Acme, Alberta. She was a proud Graduate from the Calgary General Hospital Nursing Program in 1944. After becoming a Registered Nurse she worked for the Victorian Order of Nurses and as the school nurse at Olds College. Catherine married John McNaughtan of Braco, Scotland in 1948 and they recently celebrated sixty-one years of marriage. They farmed near Didsbury and Carstairs from 1951 until 1982, when they retired to Didsbury and later Calgary. Catherine was predeceased by her loving husband John. She is loved and missed by her four children and two sons in law, Margaret McNaughtan of New Westminster, BC; Sheila McNaughtan and Russell Heppell of Edmonton, AB; John “Ian” McNaughtan of Sydney, Australia; Elizabeth “Bea” McNaughtan and Joel Mayer of Calgary, AB. She is also survived by her sister in law Edna Yellowlees and her family. Catherine was predeceased by her brother John Yellowlees.
