Obituary of FYFE – Margaret Christina
November 12, 1926 – June 23, 2010
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Margaret Christina Fyfe, who passed away peacefully surrounded with love from her family, on Wednesday, June 23, 2010.
Margaret was born in Melville, SK. Her father was employed with the railway in Dropmore, MB, which allowed her to travel a fair amount. She moved to Calgary when she was a young lady where she met Bill and married him on June 5, 1948. Margaret worked as a legal secretary while at the same time Bill attended university. When they began their family, Margaret chose to remain at home to care for their children. Margaret played and taught piano as well as taught Sunday School. Bill and Margaret were active with the Calgary square dance community, where they made many good friends. Margaret was always an animal lover and the family always had pets to keep them company.
Margaret is survived by her children, Glen (Wendy) Fyfe and Heather (Jim) Turner; and cherished grandchildren, Kiera and Alex Fyfe. She is also survived by two brothers Ron Gilhooly and Bob Gilhooly as well as several nieces and nephews. Margaret will be greatly missed by all who loved her. Margaret was predeceased by her husband William (Bill) Fyfe (married fifty-two years) on August 11, 2000 and a brother Bill Gilhooly.
