Obituary of VALENCIA – Paulino

April 29, 1938 – June 16, 2010 It is with deep sorrow that the family of Paulino Valencia announce his sudden passing at the Peter Lougheed Hospital on Wednesday, June 16, 2010 at the age of 72 years. Paul was born in Luna, La Union, Philippines and graduated from the National University of Manila with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering. He worked at the Manila Electric Company (MERALCO) where he met many of his long time friends. Paul and Inday immigrated to Canada in 1974. They landed in Vancouver, BC then eventually settled in Calgary to start their family and have since called Canada his home. Paul is survived by his loving wife Sonia (Inday), his daughters and their husbands, Aimee and Dan, Moira and John, his four grandchildren, Arielle, Danielle, Samuel and Nathan Paul, and by his siblings, Marcelino and Asuncion of the Philippines. Paul was predeceased by his mother Fermina Soriano and father Bartolome Valencia, his brothers Melicio Sr., Federico, Adriano and his sister Silvestra. Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Eastside Memorial Chapel (5388 Memorial Drive N.E.) on Thursday, June 24, 2010 and Friday, June 25, 2010 from 6:00p.m. to 9:00p.m. Funeral Mass will be Celebrated at St. Mark’s Catholic Church (5552 Madigan Dr NE) on Saturday, June 26, 2010 at 12:00p.m. Graveside Service to follow at Mountain View Memorial Gardens.
