It is with deep regret and sorrow, the family of Elizabeth Passmore wish to announce the passing of their beloved mother, sister, cousin, aunt, grandmother and great grandmother. Elizabeth died of old age, complicated by COPD, on June 10, 2010, at Brentwood Nursing Home, in Calgary. She was born on February 12, 1925 in Clinton, Ontario, the second oldest of five children. She attended school in Arthur, where she met her first husband Dick whom she wed in 1944. They lived in many communities in Ontario, ending up in Ottawa for ten years before retiring to ranch in Grand Forks B.C., in 1972. Shortly after Dick’s death in 1982, Elizabeth spent 2 years in Saskatoon to be near her ailing sister Kay. She then moved to the Port Perry area in Ontario where she worked as a house keeper for many years meeting her second husband Don Millar. She moved to Calgary in 2006 to be closer to her children. Throughout her life she was active in every community in which she lived, in the UCW, choirs, Welcome Wagon, Beauty Counsellor, Koffee Klatch, Cattle Belles, the Canadian Progress Club, Meals on Wheels, greeter at the Port Perry Hospital, and bridge, among many other activities, making many lifelong friends. She is predeceased by her husband Dick (R.C.) Passmore (1982) and son Ron Passmore (1996) as well as her second husband Don Millar (1995). She is also predeceased by her sisters Agnes and husband Bill (Bradbury) and Kay (Whale) and brother Steve Stothers, as well as brother and sister-in-law Philip and Barbara Passmore. Left to grieve are her cousin Mary Bere, sister Ruth (Jim) Schultz and family, sisters-in-law Marilyn Stothers and Elsie Humphrey and Phil Passmores’ extended families, as well as the Bradbury children. Her life lives on in her children Bob Passmore (Marianne Langille), Monica Santiago (Tony) and Phil (Lynda) Passmore and grandchildren Steve Passmore, Shane (Dave) Futcher, Daniel and Erin Santiago and Rick Passmore, as well as great grandchildren, Courtney, Josh and Alyssa Futcher and Brody Passmore. We wish to thank the staff of the Brentwood Nursing Home for their excellent care of our mother over the last 2 years. Private interment to follow. Forward condolences to memillar13@gmail.com.
