Obituary of FILLINGHAM – Gladys Hazel

September 4, 1922 – June 12, 2010 Gladys Fillingham, beloved wife of Elmer (Slim) Fillingham (who predeceased her), passed away on June 12, 2010 at the age of 87 years. She is survived by her sons Eldon and Craig as well as by her daughter -in -law Teresa Fillingham, and her grandchildren Vicki and Leigh who are the children of Craig and Teresa. Vicki and her husband Matt Lehman have two beautiful children, Tytan and Skylar and Leigh and his partner Kathy Shaw have two boys, Cash and Tucker. The great grandchildren brought great joy into the life of Gladys as did their parents. Gladys Fillingham was a native Albertan having been born on September 4, 1922 in Hesketh, Alberta. Her father, William Edwards came from Ontario and her mother Elvena Kuhn came from Germany. Gladys and Slim Fillingham enjoyed a wonderful marriage that lasted over fifty years and together they travelled all over North America in their motor home (from Alaska to Mexico and all across Canada and the USA). She was a caring, selfless, hard working person who said what she meant. We are saddened by her loss which has created a void in our hearts but with the passage of time this void will be filled with our fond memories of her. She is now at peace. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all the family members and friends who filled Mom’s life, throughout its lengthy span with love, laughter and support. We appreciate your wonderful contribution to her life and we are grateful for your kind words about how much she meant to you. A private family service was held. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. In living memory of Gladys Fillingham, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park by McINNIS & HOLLOWAY FUNERAL HOMES Park Memorial Chapel, 5008 ELBOW DRIVE S.W. Telephone: (403) 243-8200.
