Obituary of SCHMIDT – Christopher James

October 26, 1985 – June 10, 2010 It is with profound sadness that the family of Chris Schmidt announces his passing on June 10, 2010, at the age of 24 years. Born in Calgary, on October 26, 1985, Christopher attended Jennie Elliott Elementary, Calgary Christian School, Hillhurst Community School (GATE Program), Bishop Pinkham Junior High, Bishop Carroll High and the Calgary Alternative High School. Chris was excitedly anticipating his entry into the Business Program at Mount Royal University for the Fall of 2010. In his every endeavour, Chris was passionate and intense. His mind was centered on the metaphysical, intellectually challenging and spiritually unseen. His wisdom had always surpassed his tender age and his compassion for friends and people in need was a shining testimony to his kind and generous heart. Those who are closest to Chris will know that he will bring passion, humour, and phenomenal spirit into his afterlife. He is rejoicing with those who have preceded him and those left behind will bathe in the afterglow of his love for them on Earth and his continuing guidance from his life beyond. Left to mourn his loss are his parents, Rod Schmidt (Luanne Kovacs) and Lenni Werner-Schmidt (Brian Thompson), his step brothers Daniel Thompson and Jonathan Kovacs, and his step sister Nicole Fraser. Chris is survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Chris is predeceased by his grandparents, John and Odelia Schmidt and Fred and Dorothy Werner, his beloved aunt Audrene Schill and uncle Paul Walz. A Celebration of Christopher’s Life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.)
