Obituary of BOYLE – Hugh

November 18, 1925 – June 9, 2010 Hugh Boyle passed away peacefully in his sleep at the Chinook Hospice in Calgary on Wednesday, June 9, 2010, three weeks after the passing of Sarah, his beloved wife of sixty years. Hugh was born in Paisley, Scotland in 1925. He served with the Scottish Regiment “The Argyle and Sutherland Highlanders” in Europe during WWII. After serving his country, he returned to Scotland. In 1950, he married Sarah and raised five children. They later immigrated to Salisbury, Rhodesia where they spent nine years. He was dedicated to his family and was always ready with a smile and a kind word. No project was too big or too small for Hughie to tackle and he was always willing to help whenever called upon. If it was broken, Hughie would fix it; if it needed to be built, Hughie would build it. Hugh is survived by his loving family; daughter and son-in-law, Maureen and Douglas; four sons and two daughters-in-law, Raymond and Roslyn, Grahame, Stephen, and David and Terry; twelve grandchildren, Gavin (Denise), Colin (Leah), Trisha (Paul), Christopher, Kat, Malcolm, Lauren, Tara, Julia, Emily, Isaac, and Nathan; one great-granddaughter Katie; sister Jane and brother Joseph of Scotland; and numerous extended family.
