Obituary of SPIEGELMANN – Bea

Beatrice (Bea) Spiegelmann of Calgary passed away peacefully in her sleep on June 7, 2010 at the Brentwood Care Centre. She was a loving and doting aunt to her two nephews Steve and Brian (Kathy) and very caring to her great-nieces and nephews Rachelle, Elissa, Kevin, and Daniel. She also showed great concern and affection for her sister-in-law, Helen, as well as all of the ‘animal’ members of her extended family. She revelled in being a part of family activities and participated well in the humourous banter that was common. She immigrated to Canada in her early twenties working as a nurse in Montreal and Toronto before moving to Calgary in the late nineties. She was fluent in five languages and in particular was a huge support in the French studies of all the nieces and nephews. Her ability to see the good in everyone and her commitment to family, extended or otherwise, and friends was always an inspiration. She was predeceased by her parents (Nicholas and Marilyn), two brothers (Henry and Victor), one sister (Sylvia) and a great-niece (Nicole), all of whom she cherished.
