Obituary of DERBIS – Andrew John

November 29, 1931 – June 6, 2010 It is with much sadness and sorrow that we announce the peaceful passing of Andrew (Andy) Derbis on Sunday June 6, 2010 at the age of 78 years, at the Rockyview General Hospital surrounded by family. Andy was born in Montreal, QB in 1931, and moved to Calgary in 1972 when he was employed by CP Rail, he retired in 1993. Andy was a long time volunteer and leader of the Marlborough Park Community Association and St. Mark’s Parish. Andy is survived by his beloved wife of 41 years, Noella Derbis, Sons Tim and Ken and by his daughter Cheryl; he is also survived by his sister Anne (John) Lukach. Andy was predeceased by is Daughter-in-law Kristina Derbis. One of Andy’s special gifts was his unwavering desire to serve his family and community. We are all so fortunate to have had Andy in our lives. He will be remembered for his keen wit, giving spirit and importance of family. We love you and will always miss you! Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at St. Mark’s Catholic Church (5552 Madigan Dr NE) on Thursday, June 10, 2010 at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be Celebrated at St. Mark’s Catholic Church (5552 Madigan Dr NE) on Friday, June 11, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Mountain View Memorial Gardens.
