Obituary of CROCKETT – Kenneth Raymond

February 4, 1923 – June 5, 2010 Ken Crockett of Calgary passed away on Saturday, June 5, 2010 at the age of 87 years. Ken was born in Edmonton, Alberta to Amy and Thomas Crockett. He served in the Canadian Armed Forces overseas from August 1942 to May 1946. Ken was an avid athlete and excelled at Table Tennis, Tennis and bowling, winning numerous provincial and western Canadian titles. After working as a land man for Chevron, Ken and Jean retired to Victoria to spend their retirement years golfing and gardening. They then returned to Calgary in 2003 to be closer to their family and grandchildren. Ken was predeceased by the love of his life, Jean after fifty-nine years of marriage. Ken is survived by his two children, daughter and son-in-law Maureen and Stephen Orton and his son and daughter-in-law Ray and Sharon Crockett; and grandchildren, Chris (fiancée Aimee) and Heather Orton; and Cameron and Brenna Crockett. A Memorial Service will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S, Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Friday, June 11, 2010 at 2:30 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
