Obituary of ROCAN – Adele Elenor

August 14, 1917 – June 5, 2010 Adele Rocan passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 5, 2010 in the Chinook Care Centre at the age of 92 years. Adele was born on August 14, 1917 in Regina, SK. During her lifetime she worked mainly for the Federal Government in the OAS department in Regina. In younger years she started as a clerk for the Robert Simpson Western Company, moved to Edmonton and was a secretary for the Council for Crippled Children. In 1955 she returned to Regina to work and help he sister look after her parents. During WW2, she was served with the Territorial Corp. She was active in the SPORM, Society Preserving Old Music in Saskatchewan. She spent many happy times at Walter and Gertie’s farm in Balcarres. Adele leaves to mourn nephews Bob (Carol) Stevenson; Ted (Kim) Stevenson and Louise (Mike) Treharne; great nieces Nicole, Sara and Karley and four great-great nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Theodore Francis Rocan and Anna (Prentice); siblings Mary O., Gertrude A and Thomas; and nephew Frederick W. Stevenson. Funeral Services will be held at Victoria Avenue Funeral Home (2080 East Victoria Ave) Regina, SK S4N 7B9.
