Obituary of LAMB – Robert Mervyn
July 25, 1920 – June 4, 2010
Robert “Bob” Lamb of Calgary, passed away on Friday, June 4, 2010 at the age of 89 years.
Bob was born in Northern Ireland and immigrated to Canada in 1925 with his parents and six siblings. He served in the Canadian Army from 1941 – 1945. Following the war, he married Viola and settled in Calgary. Bob was employed for thirty-eight years with Gulf Canada, retiring in 1985.
Bob is survived by two sons, Edward (Glynis) and Murray; one daughter Edna (Lou) Nord; one sister Edith Carlson; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and good friends. He was predeceased by his wife Viola in 2004; four brothers, Richard, Ernest, Joseph and Eric; and three sisters, Kathleen, Martha and Freda.
Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Monday, June 7, 2010 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S, Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Tuesday, June 8, 2010 at 2:30 p.m. Graveside Service to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery. The family would like to thank Dr. Myles and all of the staff of Unit 46, Foothills Hospital, for the kind and considerate care extended to Bob over the past three months.
