Obituary of COOPER – Richard Edward
November 23, 1927 – June 1, 2010
Richard Edward Cooper, beloved husband of Gladys, passed away on Tuesday, June 1, 2010 at the age of 82 years.
Richard will always be lovingly remembered as a man with a good, open heart and an easy smile, with boundless compassion, steadfast integrity, unpretentious dignity and infectious humour. Richard was born at his parent’s home in Calgary. Richard spent countless hours volunteering within the community, most recognizably he was Past Master of the Free Masons.
He will be sadly missed by his wife Gladys of 60 years, his daughter Terry, granddaughter Catherine and grandson-son David; daughter Diane and her husband Neil. We thank him for the many great memories, good times, and corny jokes. Hope there is a crossword puzzle waiting for you.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later time. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Canadian Diabetes Association, Calgary & District Branch, # 204, 2323 – 32 Avenue N.E., Calgary, AB, T2E 6Z3, www.diabetes.ca or the charity of one’s choice. Everyone who knew Dick will recognize what he wanted for his final words.. “Dick’s dead, ‘nuf said”.
