Obituary of QUIST – Ruth

January 14, 1922 – May 30, 2010 Ruth was able to leave this earth on Sunday, May 30, 2010 at the age of 88 years. Ruth entered this world on January 14, 1922 in Raymond, Alberta, the third daughter born to Thomas and Florence Court, and was the eleventh of twelve children. Ruth spent her early years growing up in Southern Alberta. She graduated from the eighth grade at Diamond City and from High School in Provo, Utah in 1940. She married Nephi E. Quist in the Cardston Temple in 1943 and eventually settled in Calgary, Alberta when Nephi joined the Calgary Police Force. They raised seven children and enjoyed all the fun, happy times and challenges that a large family brings. Ruth was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She enjoyed a houseful of family or company and was ready for fun and games with anyone who was interested. She loved to travel and did so whenever the opportunities arose. Her sense of humour was enjoyed by her family and those who came in contact with her. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was a big part of her life and she served in many capacities. Ruth was never happier than when she was doing her family geneology, or teaching someone else to do theirs. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, ten siblings, husband of sixty five years, and a son. She is survived by three sons, three daughters, thirty two grandchildren, and forty seven great-grandchildren.
