Obituary of McLAUCHLAN – Ronald Andrew
June 23, 1932 – May 30, 2010
Ronald Andrew McLauchlan beloved companion of Karen Emms for 27 years passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, May 30, 2010 after a year long battle with cancer.
Ron was born on June 23, 1932 and lived in Calgary all his life. He started his career in 1948 with CPR at the age of sixteen and retired from CPR in 1989. Ron’s happiest times were working on car and truck engines and helping others work on theirs. He is a member of the Alberta Pioneer Auto Club and a proud owner of a 1964 Pontiac Parisienne Convertible. He was a volunteer at the Calgary Stampede for over twenty years.
Ron is survived by twelve nieces and nephews and their families and Tracy and Robin Emms and their families. He was predeceased by his four siblings and three nieces.
Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Friday, June 4, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. Forward condolences throughwww.mcinnisandholloway.com. Ron’s family wishes to thank the staff of the Tom Baker Cancer Center and home care nurses for the wonderful care he received during his illness. A very special thank you is owed to home care nurse Debbie Huey who was so kind and gentle to Ron on his difficult journey.
