Obituary of TRYLINSKI – Zygmunt

March 15, 1917 – May 29, 2010 Dr. Zygmunt Trylinski, obstetrician and gynecologist, passed away peacefully at the Colonel Belcher on Saturday, May 29, 2010 at the age of 93 years. Dr. Trylinski was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba and received his education at United College, now the University of Winnipeg, and the University of Manitoba medical school. He trained for his specialty at Marston Green Maternity Hospital in England, Saskatoon and Montreal. During World War II he proudly served in the R.C.A.F. He started practising medicine in Beechy, Saskatchewan as a rural family doctor. After receiving his specialty, he practiced in North Battleford, Saskatchewan, and most recently Red Deer, Alberta. His final contribution as a medical doctor was in the field of laser surgery where he was one of the first doctors in Western Canada to use this technique. He later trained local Calgary doctors in its use at the former Grace Hospital. He married Anne Chernoski in 1944 and they enjoyed 66 years less one week of happy marriage. They have three children: Janice Trylinski (Tom Lynch), Timothy Trylinski and Susan Trylinski. Janice and Susan are lawyers and Timothy is a teacher in Vancouver. Dr. Trylinski has three grandchildren that he adored; Lara Branson, Anastasia Branson (twins) and Alexandra Branson. He is predeceased by his grandparents, Ludwig and Maria Corby who pioneered at Cooks Creek Manitoba, and his parents, Michael Trylinski and Anastasia (Corby) Trylinski. He is also predeceased by his brother, William Trylinski. He leaves behind one brother, Christopher Trylinski, and three sisters Verna Romanow (Winnipeg), Louise Malegus (Winnipeg) and Catherine Zukowsky (Bill Zukowsky) of Calgary. Dr. Trylinski also had many nephews and nieces: Diane Trylinski, Tony Romanow, Claudia Bell, Loraine McLeod, Katherine Stemp, Betty Jane Marks, Timothy Romanow, Tom Romanow, Margaret Romanow, Darlene Trylinski, Gerald Trylinski, Lesley Pshyk and Marilyn Hill. He was a dedicated doctor and family man. He was a great humanitarian who loved the arts and wrote poetry. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Thursday, June 3, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Eden Brook Memorial Gardens.
