Obituary of GOTTSCHLING – Dieter Eberhard

June 19, 1938 – May 27, 2010 Dieter Gottschling, beloved husband of Baerbel Gottschling, passed away on Thursday, May 27, 2010 at the age of 71 years. Dieter was born in Liegnitz, Germany on June 19, 1938 to Willy and Johanna Gottschling. He married Baerbel on October 15, 1965, and, they immigrated to Canada in 1966. As a young man he learned his trade as a brick layer. After their move to Canada Dieter and his brother, Guenther, started a drywall and general contracting company, Gottschling Bros. Construction and Drywall Ltd., where Dieter continued to work until the present day. He lived for his work and took great pride in his accomplishments. His work was his passion. Dieter always had his projects around the house and was continuously building his dream. He would be there for anyone if they needed anything. He was a family provider and an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing, hunting, camping, hiking – a true nature lover at heart. Dieter was a caring and loving husband, father, and Opa (Granddad). He will be greatly missed. Dieter is survived by his loving wife Baerbel Gottschling; two daughters, Susanne (Randy) Brauer, and Denise (Russell) Ray; three grandchildren Shawn, Jasmine, and Jonathan; one sister Karin of Germany; and five brothers Helmut, Peter, Sigfried, and Eberhard, all of Germany, and Guenther of near by Calgary.
