Obituary of WALKER – Richard Barry

January 28, 1936 – May 21, 2010 Richard “Barry” Walker, cherished husband of Carolyn for forty-eight years, passed away at Rockyview General Hospital on Friday, May 21, 2010 at the age of 74 years. Barry, born in Shaunavon, Saskatchewan on January 28, 1936, attended the University of Alberta and graduated in 1959 with a Bachelor of Science Degree. After several seasons as a field geologist with the Geological Survey of Canada and Amerada in northern BC and the Yukon, Barry began his career as a geologist in the petroleum industry. He retired from Canadian Occidental Petroleum in 1992. Barry is lovingly remembered by his sons, Rick (Lydy, granddaughters, Mikayla, Kaigyn, Linsey, Jordyn), Rob (Roberta, granddaughter Maren) and Wade (Coty, grandsons, Jayden, Kyle). He is also survived by his sister Imogene Walker as well as sisters-in-law Eleanor and Gladys. He was predeceased by his parents Tom and Alice and his brothers Don and Wes. A Celebration of Life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Fish Creek Chapel (14441 Bannister Road S.E.) on Wednesday, May 26, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
