Obituary of William John RAUCKMAN

November 4, 1920 – May 20, 2010

 

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of William (Bill) Rauckman in Calgary on Thursday, May 20, 2010 at the age of 89 years.

 

Bill was born in Saskatoon, SK on November 4, 1920. He was raised in Viscount, SK and later moved to California. Bill and Marjorie were married in 1942. Bill served in the U.S. Navy Armed Guard from 1944 – 1946. He then returned to Canada where he farmed in the Viscount area for fifty years. He was a long-time member of the Lanigan, SK Masonic Lodge. Bill moved back to Saskatoon where he and Marjorie lived for seven years before relocating to Calgary in 2003. He will be remembered as an honest, hard-working man with a great sense of humour. Bill will live on in the hearts of his family and many friends and will be forever missed and always remembered.

 

Bill will be dearly missed by his wife of sixty-eight years Marjorie; his son Ronald (Linda) of Fairview, AB; daughter Jeanne Schwartzenberger of Calgary; five grandchildren, Todd, Tracey (Keith), Trevor (Tania), Darcy (Brenda), and Avril (Mark); eleven great-grandchildren as well as extended family and friends.. He was predeceased by his granddaughter Dena; son-in-law Kenneth; brother John; sisters, Adelaide (Dougdale), Virginia (Fornachon) and Phyllis (Hoffman).

 

Funeral Mass will be Celebrated at Holy Spirit Catholic Church (114 Kingsmere Place, Saskatoon, SK) on Saturday, June 5, 2010 at 12:00 p.m. Graveside Service to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
