Obituary of WIENCKI – Verona Madeline

April 18, 1931 – May 18, 2010 Verona Madeline Wiencki beloved wife of Paul Edward Wiencki of Calgary, passed away on Tuesday, May 18, 2010 at the age of 79 years. Verona was born on April 18, 1931 in Liesek, Slovakia, and immigrated to Canada in 1936 with her family and resided in the Crowsnest Pass where she met and married Paul in 1949. After the births of their 3 children, they moved to Calgary in 1957 where they raised their family. Her pride and joy in life were her family and gardening. Besides her loving husband Paul, she is also survived by her sons Mark (Kate Reeves), Leonard, and Fabian (Lee) Wiencki; her grandchildren Morris, Andrew, Laurie, Christopher, Erin, and Simon and great grandchildren Ashley Rose, Dax and Olivia. She is also survived by her siblings John, Stephanie, Stanley and Margaret and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Friday, May 21, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church (1600 Acadia Drive S.E.) on Saturday, May 22, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery.
