Obituary of PRIEBE – Rudolf

May 31, 1930 – May 17, 2010 Mr. Rudolf Priebe, beloved husband of Mrs. Emma Priebe of Calgary passed away peacefully on May 17, 2010 at the Rockyview General Hospital, 2 weeks short of his 80th birthday. Besides his loving wife Emma, he is survived by his only daughter Rose (Brian) Hennig and his two grandchildren Jessica and Austin, all of Calgary. Rudy is also survived by two brothers: Otto (Linda) Priebe of Strathmore and Teo (Erika) Priebe of Calgary; two sisters: Martha (Guenter) Rosin of Calgary and Emmy Eichhorst of Creston, B.C .Rudy was born in Zarubka, Poland on May 31, 1930 and immigrated to Canada with his brothers and sisters in 1949, settling in the farming community of Wimborne, Alberta. In 1953, he married the love of his life Emma, and in 1963 he became a proud father to Rose. Together they lived in a number of different locations across Alberta until finally settling for good in Calgary in 1977. He retired from his position with the City of Calgary in 1992 and spent his finally years enjoying time with family. Funeral services to celebrate Rudy’s life will be held at Emmanuel Community Church, 3003 – 28 Street SE, on Friday, May 21, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
