Obituary of GODFREY –Nell

February 11, 1915 – May 16, 2010 Nell Godfrey passed away on Sunday, May 16, 2010 at the age of 95 years. Born in Alberta, Nell was the eldest of five sisters. A graduate of the University of Alberta with a penchant for home economics, Nell moved to Toronto to pursue a career in fashion with Eatons, then taught sewing at the CNIB where she met husband Jack, and finally, spent the remainder of her career teaching. She and Jack travelled the world extensively. Nell’s passion for the arts made her a regular at Stratford, The Royal Alex and Roy Thomson Hall. Nell moved to Calgary in 2002 to be closer to her family and continued to live life to the fullest. Nell is survived by her daughter Barbara, granddaughter Heather, great-granddaughter Raven, and sister Elsie. Nell was predeceased by husband Jack, and sisters Liz, Jen and Olive.
