Condolences
It is sad to see the passing of a good friend and valued colleague. Many good
memories of our work in Bowness and in School Athletics. His contributions
are his many monuments. Retirement separates us with distance, but good memories will always be.
Mr. Hodgert was my principal while I was a student at A E Cross Junior High. I still think of him now even though I am in my 40’s and I am thankful that he was a part of my education life. I’m hopeful that my son can be so fortunate to have such a wonderful principal.
A wonderful man. Full of spirit and life. Ken will leave lasting memories with all of those who met him. He was always the life of the party at all the Stamp’s games and tailgate parties.
To the family of Mr. Hodgert:
I am so saddened to read about the passing of Mr. Hodgert. I was one of those kids who was privileged to take the Red Cross Lifesaving Program from Mr. Hodgert and Mr. Ran White. I am grateful for that instruction which enabled me to work in water safety and swimming instruction throughout my university days.
I hold you all in my thoughts and prayers and extend to you my deepest sympathy. May you be comforted in these days of grief and loss by your loved ones, your faith and your wonderful memories.
Blessings to all, Fran Van Sant Cormack
Hi –
My condolences to Ken`s family – I played hockey at UBC with Ken as my team-mate and fellow defense partner in 47/48 and 48/49 when we won Big – Blocks. I think that I last saw him at our UBC Sports Hall of Fame dinner when we were inducted.
Again my condolences – he was a great guy.
Sincerely ,

From the friends of S.A.G Glenmore Senior Aquacises send our heartfelt condolences to Ken’s family. He was well liked by all and we all enjoyed his company at the pool. We also admired his courage and strength in fighting his illness. As well as his devotion and help he gave to his wife
in her illness.

Ken was my first principal when I started my teaching career at A.E. Cross. He was a strong leader and provided a school with a safe and caring environment – a great place for a beginning teacher to learn her craft. He is fondly remembered.
Kate, Bryan, KJ and families.
Just wanted to let you know my thoughts are with you at this time.
My condolences to Ken’s family! I have positive memories of Ken from Calgary Board of Education days. I also knew Ken as a charter member of the Springbank Lions Club in the 80’s and he also played Oldtimers Hockey in Springbank. It’s easy to remember that big smile on his face and his joy of life.

Ken was my phys ed teacher at Western Canada in 1955. Some things I learned from him then, I was able to use through life. It was so great to meet up with Ken at a later date at the WAGGLE golf tournaments, where we had some laughs and of course reminisced about the days at Western. Ken we will miss you. Stu

The friends of Ken Hodgert from the Springbank Heritage Club send our heartfelt condolences to Ken’s family. He was a kind and loving man.
I first met Ken when he joined the Langley Lions Club in the 1980s. He and Donna were very involved in the activities of the club. During one of our dinner meetings Ken told me about the White Rock Sailing Coop and he subsequently signed me up to a membership. The experience sailing with Ken in the Gulf Islands and the San Juans introduced me to a wonderful retirement activity which continued for over twenty years. Ken was also a member of the gentlemen’s “Elite Poker Group”, made up mostly of retired teachers and administrators, which has been in existence in Langley for almost a half century.
Ken will be missed.
My sincere sympathy to the Hodgert family.

I grew up with KJ on Leeson Court and have many memories of Mr. Hodgert – day trips to Banff, playing in their basement and jumping from the stage at AE Cross into the big pile of foam at KJ’s birthday parties. My condolences to the entire Hodgert Family.
I have fond memories of Mr. Hodgert from the Leeson Court phase of his life. I am sorry to hear of his passing and my thoughts are with the family, especially Maureen, Kathy, Brian and KJ.
