Obituary of TWOYOUNGMEN – Gavin

January 28, 1962 – May 13, 2010 It is with great sadness that the family of Gavin Twoyoungmen announces his passing on Thursday, May 13, 2010 at the age of 48 years. Gavin enjoyed participating in all types of sports, including fastball, hockey, rodeo and golf. He also participated in powwows and round dances, in and around the community. He had a strong belief in the traditional and cultural ways of his native people. Gavin was employed as a contracted plumber for the Chiniki First Nation and was a part-time driver for the Nakoda bus lines. Gavin leaves behind his parents Arthur and Alice Twoyoungmen; his wife Shelley Twoyoungmen; sons, Gavin Twoyoungmen Jr. (Sheena) and Pheonix Bearspaw; step-children, Larissa (Steve), Chassidy (Vern), Bodeen, and Dillon; sisters, Gayleen (Frank) and Doyletta (Leon); granddaughter Layla; numerous nephews, nieces and cousins; uncles, Alvin (Doris) and Clifford; aunties, Winnie Francis and Eliza Holloway; father-in-law Don Wigton; brothers and sisters-in-law; and the Amos, Crawler, Daniels, Ears, Francis, Holloway, Hunter, Kaquitts, Labelle, Lefthand, Mark, Powderface, Poucette, Simeon, and Twoyoungmen families, all from the Morley, Eden Valley and Big Horn reserves. Gavin was predeceased by his grandparents Amos (1964) and Annie (1988) Amos; great-grandfather Jake Twoyoungmen (1966); grandparents Arthur (1942) and Sarah (1999 Twoyoungmen; brother Brian Twoyoungmen (2008); May Amos (2004); Marilyn Twoyoungmen (2000); Franklin Holloway (1982); Terry Francis (1994); and mother-in-law Sheila Wigton (2007). We apologize if we have missed anyone. Wake Services will be held at the residence of Arthur and Alice Twoyoungmen (Morley, AB) on Saturday, May 15, 2010 and Sunday, May 16, 2010. Funeral Services will be held at the Morley Gymnasium (Morley, AB) on Monday, May 17, 2010 at 12:00 p.m. Graveside Service to follow at Bearspaw Cemetery (Morley, AB).
