Obituary of JONES – Jean Louise

February 21, 1927 – May 11, 2010 Jean Louise Jones was born in San Luis Obispo, California on February 21, 1927 and passed away in Calgary Alberta on Tuesday May 11, 2010. She leaves us the legacy of her sense of humour, long and caring friendships and her commitment to family. Jean was predeceased by her husband and soul mate Richard in April, 2005. She leaves her sons Tony Saviskas (Maddy) of Surrey, BC and Mike Saviskas (Lorraine) of Guatemala, Central America, and daughters Anne Johnson (Bert) and Mary Brandt of Calgary, Alberta, together with eight grandchildren Corey, Jodi, Kelsey, Lee, Bart, Xiomara, Kim, Kacie and nine great-grandchildren and numerous life long friends. Jean is also survived by one brother, Jim Rogers (Linda) of Hinton, Alberta, one brother-in-law, Dan Jones of Lloydminster, Alberta and sister-in-laws, Jean of Lloydminster, Marilee of Vernon BC, Kathy of Victoria BC with a large extended family of cousins, nieces and nephews. Jean enjoyed several creative pursuits in painting, wool production and weaving, needlework, reading and especially, a love of baking passed on through her family heritage. Her greatest happiness came from her family and in the enjoyment of farm life. Richard and Jean lived the majority of their life in the rural Lloydminster, Alberta area where Jean was actively involved in home arts committees and events and she shared her love of creative endeavour and competitive spirit with the community. At Jean’s request, there will be a small family service of remembrance. If friends so desire, donations may be made to the organization of the donor’s choice. Family members also request that you pause with your family to remember Jean over a favourite ice crème treat, one enjoyment of life that she truly savoured.
