Obituary of RUTHERFORD – Rae Alan

March 22, 1921 – May 8, 2010 Rae Rutherford passed away peacefully at the Foothills hospital on Saturday, May 8, 2010, at the age of 89 years. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Marjorie, his daughters; Karen (Dale) Keates and Donna (Tony) Romano, grandchildren; Kyle, Katie, Jennifer, Gavin Keates, Nicola and Kira Romano a sister Lorene (Mel) Lashuk of Kelowna as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Helen Dunbar, and brother Harold. Born in Alliance, AB, and raised in Castor AB, Rae moved to Calgary in 1941 to take up employment with GSL Chev City where he worked for over 43 years before retiring in 1984. Rae was a true gentleman who enjoyed people and loved his family, teaching and practicing integrity, honesty, and patience. He will be sadly missed and ever loved. A celebration of Rae’s life will be held at Woodcliff United Church (5010) Spruce Drive S.W.) on Wednesday, May 19, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
