Obituary of SHALANSKI – Teresa Bernice

January 25, 1930 – May 5, 2010 It is with great sadness that the family of Bernice Shalanski announce her sudden passing at her home in Calgary on Wednesday, May 5, 2010 at the age of 80 years. As a native Calgarian, Bernice grew up in the Belfast, Riverside/Bridgeland neighbourhoods. She retired from Gulf Canada in 1992 and in her retirement she spent time with her family and friends. Bernice was an avid sports fan and loved horses and dogs. She was a very kind person with a positive outlook on life and will be dearly missed. Bernice is survived by her son Gordon; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Kerren, Cindy and Dean, Nancy and Norm and daughter-in-law Karen; and eight grandchildren, Nicole, Jessica, Megan, Krista, Alex, Matthew, Shane and Jodi. She is also survived by her close cousins Barry, Eva, R.B. and Olive; long-time friends Nellie, Del and Helen; and her many “grandpets” who will miss her treats and cuddles. A Celebration of Bernice’s Life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S, Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Wednesday, May 12, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
