Obituary of SAVIDANT – Sheldon Roger

September 29, 1954 – May 4, 2010 With great sorrow we announce the passing of Sheldon Roger Savidant on Tuesday, May 4, 2010 at the Rosedale Hospice. After a two and a half year battle with cancer, in which he fought bravely and courageously, he died at 3:40 a.m., surrounded by his three special girls: his partner, Kathy, his daughter, Deirdre and niece, Melissa. He is survived by his life partner and true love, Kathy McCutcheon; his step-son, Shawn; his loving daughter, Deirdre; and two precious grandchildren, Sarah and Bianca; his mother, Grace; his brothers, Wayne and Blair; his sisters, Peggy, Tessie, Barbara, Olga, Elaine, and Lauretta; as well as countless nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins, in-laws, co-workers and many, many friends. Sheldon is now at peace and re-united with his father, Charles Herman, and his brother Wade. Sheldon was born in Gaspe, Quebec on September 29, 1954. He spent his younger years between Quebec City, Gaspe and Montreal. He was a hardworking dedicated tradesman and worked throughout Canada, finally settling in Calgary. Sheldon was passionate about his family, friends and the outdoors, in particular, fishing and gardening. His unique sense of humour will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Thursday, May 6, 2010 from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S, Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Friday, May 7, 2010 at 4:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will also be held in Gaspe, Quebec at a later date.
