Obituary of HANNA – Jean Natalia

August 14, 1919 – May 4, 2010 Jean Natalia Hanna, born in Calgary on August 14, 1919 to Natalia (nee Michell) and John Gordon “Jack” Hanna, passed away in her sleep at the Chinook Care Centre in Calgary on Tuesday May 4, 2010 in her 91st year. Jean’s mother Natalia was a nurse in Calgary while her father was a Royal North West Mounted Policeman. Natalia passed away when Jean was just over a year old. Her father then married Eva Cox, coincidentally also a nurse in Calgary, and they had a daughter, Eleanor. Jean’s older brother John Edward Michell ‘Mich’ followed in his father’s footsteps by becoming a RCMP officer. He passed away in Medicine Hat in 2001 leaving behind his wife Nancy (Yeast). Eleanor died in 1997 in Westport Ontario leaving behind her husband Colin Cope. A Celebration of Jean’s Life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Wednesday, July 7, 2010 from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Jean’s remains are to be buried next to her father in the Mount Royal Cemetery in Montreal, QC.
