Obituary of HARPER – Rita Maureen

January 8, 1950 – May 1, 2010 Rita Maureen Harper was born on January 8, 1950 in Winnipeg, Manitoba and passed away on Saturday, May 1, 2010 in Calgary, Alberta at the age of 60 years after a short lived condition with terminal cancer. Rita is survived by her loving husband Robert Loney; her two children Jason Loney and Marliana Loney; her Brothers Roger and Paul Hurtibise; and her much loved family pets, Barkley her little wiggly puppy and Squeak her Manx cat. Rita grew up in Winnipeg with her family and as the years passed life took her to Calgary, AB where she met her husband Robert Loney and his two children. They were together for twenty-five years, married for sixteen years and were going to celebrate there seventeenth year anniversary on May 15, 2010. Rita will be remembered always as an extremely generous woman, very kind and patient, loving and forgiving. She would always make sure everyone else had what they needed and wanted, and she would go with out. Rita was just happy to make other people happy, and to make another person’s life better and easier. Rita was a very strong woman, with shoulders big enough to carry the weight of the world. She will always be held very close to our hearts, and will be in our prayers. Rita, may you find rest and peace. It is your time to be with our Lord, our savior.
